Very exciting to have the college football season coming up!  Go Cougars!!  That's all that I can say.Cheesy

Quote
After a season of chasing, Southern California is again the team being chased.

And that's just the way coach Pete Carroll and the Trojans like it.

For the third time in the past four years, USC begins the college football season No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25.

"It's exactly where we hope and expect to be," Carroll said. "It's a symbol of what we're all about."

Southern California received 62 of 65 first-place votes and 1,622 points from a panel of media members. USC easily outdistanced No. 2 LSU in the poll released Saturday. The Tigers received two first-place votes and 1,511 points. They haven't started a season ranked this high since 1959, when they were preseason No. 1.

No. 3 West Virginia received the other first-place vote. The Mountaineers have never been ranked higher in the preseason. No. 4 Texas and Michigan round out the top five, and defending champion Florida is sixth.

I can't stand USC. Angry Stupid PAC-10.

Who do you think the BCS Buster will be this year? Anyone?

I think if BYU can take out Arizona and survive a beastly road trip to UCLA, I think they have a great chance to run the table and get into one of the big games. I realize that's a big "if." Fingers crossed!  Cool

I would certainly have to agree.  If BYU can win there first 3 games I think they have a real shot.  And also people keep saying TCU this year will bust through the BCS.  I personally don't see that.  Sure BYU does not have John Beck this year, but Max Hall is shaping up really nicely from what I read and also seen.

Check this video out from last years game. Grin

Wow!  So you already know this guy then.  I actually walked up the steps to campus wit him the other day.  Hopefully he will be able to put some offensive fireworks together this year.

By the way on a sidenote Gifford Nielsen and Ty Detmer will be honored during the Cougars' season-opener against Arizona. The No. 14 jersey will be retired in honor of Nielsen and Detmer.

I will be there on Sept. 1! Cheesy

Yeah honestly I know nothing about football or the people playing it. I just know Max Hall. I sat next to him in one of our classes.

It's kind of like me with technology...I don't know anything about it, but for some reason I work at a very tech-y place.

Sorry, back to football... DEFENSE! (That's my contribution.)

Any suggestions on what game I should go to this year? I've never attended a BYU football game and I graduate in December.

Yup, anything but Eastern Washington. We should kill them. I'd recommend Air Force, TCU or Utah. Come to think of it, Arizona next weekend will be a lot of fun, too. We really do have a pretty impressive home schedule lined up for this season.

I don't know how you can root for UCLA after what Ben Olson did to BYU . . .

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Nope, no shame here.  If he wants to go to UCLA thats fine with me and it's probably better for his career.  But don't worry I am still a Cougar!  My Brother-in-Law played tight end for UCLA and so my entire family got to go to a lot of UCLA games and it was a lot of fun and we like UCLA a lot.

That was really too bad about the BYU vs. UCLA game.  They really had a chance up until the last 5 minutes.

Psh, they didn't ever have a chance.

JUST KIDDING DON'T HATE ME.

Really, though...they were struggling the first half. I only watched bits and pieces of the game, and I thought they were going to pull through in the 2nd half but I guess not.
