Senator Sues God

I found this really interesting. This senator decided to bring a lawsuit against God in order to prove a point to others about impractical law suits. People sue others left and right nowadays, usually for no real reason (except to get money, of course). The senator is trying to show everyone how silly that really is.

I applaud Mr. Chambers for his efforts (and for the wording and alliteration in the lawsuit--quite entertaining to read).

So I Googled "Sue God" just to see what would come up and I found this:

http://www.godhatesamerica.com/html/lawsuit.html

What it looks like to me is a Baptist church bringing a suit against a man for not believing that his son was killed by God in Iraq for the sins of America (I think he actually brought a lawsuit against them first because they were picketing nearby during his son's funeral, but this is their retort). How many people lose family members in Iraq but don't believe they are dying for the sins of America? Basically all of them, would be my guess. They used other reasoning in their actual statement but the underlying message is that he doesn't have the same beliefs, got upset at the picketing going on at his son's funeral (who wouldn't?) and therefore deserves to be sued. Whaaaat? Talk about frivolous lawsuits...

A politician in the US is protesting at frivolous law suits in the US courts by launching one himself in which he is suing God.

The suit (pdf) seeks an injunction against God to stop him and his followers making terrorist threats.

It has been filed in a Nebraska district court by Ernie Chambers, a Senator in the state Senate.

The suit says God "has made and continues to make terroristic threats of grave harm to innumerable persons". It said the threats were credible, given God's history.

It said God and his followers caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants", as well as "fearsome floods, egregious earthquakes, horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes, pestilential plagues, ferocious famines, devastating droughts, genocidal wars, birth defects, and the like".

Chambers's suit was filed in protest at frivolous suits in general, and one in particular. During a trial for sexual assault on Tory Bowen the judge barred the use of certain words, including "rape" and "victim".

Then that senator is way way beyond crazy. He should consult a psychiatrist, because i believed that he is in need greatly of one. Who would like to sue God in the first place. Is this true, really?

i think fair play to him anyone that even gets through to 1 person about the ridiculosness of  people suing each other left, right and centre. It really gets on my nerves the fact that somebody will just fall over with no fault to anybody else and still find somebody to blame (or more importantly SUE!!!).
Anyway thats my rant for the day!!!

Suing God is a mere joke and a lot of nonsense. No one could sue God in the first place. Better He should be the one to sue us for not following the right path that he intended for us and the life that he chose for us.
