Wow....just wow!  Today Nintendo briefly outstriped Sony for Market value in the Japanese stock market.  This is a huge deal because Sony is in so many, many different markets (Cameras, LCDs, Computers).  Whereas Nintendo only makes games and game consoles. Shocked

(6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) in market capitalization on Monday to become one of Japan's 10 most valuable companies as it elbows the PlayStation maker out of its decade-long dominance of the game industry.

Nintendo joined global household names such as Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.T: Quote, Profile, Research), Honda Motor Co. (7267.T: Quote, Profile, Research) and Canon Inc. (7751.T: Quote, Profile, Research) on the top-10 list before its shares erased earlier gains and ended the day lower.

Today Nintendo shares temporarily overtook Sony, hitting a record high of 45,350 yen (approx $367), which brought the company's net worth to 6.57 trillion yen ($53 billion), in comparison to Sony's 6.48 trillion yen ($52 billion). At the close of the Tokyo-based Nikkei stock exchange, Nintendo's shares had dropped down to 45,100 yen ($365)...
Nintendo is reported to have sold about 2.37 million Wii consoles in the US, 2 million in Japan, and 1.47 million in other regions including Europe.

Wow that is awesome.  Go Nintendo!  I like some Sony stuff but that is just awesome.

Thats crazy i cannot belive the Nintendo managed to out stripe Sony, but then again Sony have had a hard year this one. So should'nt be too suprised i guess!!!
