Using FX in DOS or WIN3.1, transfer to XP via USB port?

I have been using FastLynx ver 1.1 with DOS and a printer port cable. It works great!!
Now I would like to back up my DOS machine onto my new computer running XP. It has no printer port so I got a USB to DB25 printer cable (CablesToGo brand, XP finds Epson 600Q ESC/P 2).
The device driver loads fine and I have set the port to USB001 etc.
FX ver 1.1 comes up fine in a DOS window, but does not see the other computer.
I do have Windows 3.1 on the DOS machine, is there a ver for that?
Any possibility of making this work??
