Purchased dual com port pci card,     SW-1162
Sunix - 4037a
would not self install with cd, DRIVERS not found
downloaded drivers, which seem to install a multiIO driver,
then tried to locate SUNIX drivers for com1....not found
then tried to locate SUNIX drivers for com2...not found
before trying again....
with XP device manger, removed none functioning drivers
for both com1 and com2, cleaned register, attempted
re-install from SEWELLdirect download for SW-1162 re-install fails.....
drivers indentified in device manager as SUNIX-4037A Port1
with driver id = SNXCARD\SNXPORT\1409&7168_40371409_4020_port0
drivers indentified in device manager as SUNIX-4037A Port2
with driver id = SNXCARD\SNXPORT\1409&7168_40371409_4020_port1
error code 28 for both 'DRIVERS NOT INSTALLED'

card was purchased to interface BK Precision electronic test equipment
here at Aerospace Labs. All equipment works with on board com1,
not through SW-1162 SUNIX-4073A

Windows XP states the drivers are not windows 'LOGO' certified
and warns about incompatibility.......

running AMD, Nvidia chipset, e-machine with on board lpt1 and com1
after install system states lpt1,com1,com2,com3 YET com2,com3 not working
also seeing a listing for...
"other devices" in XP device manager listed as SUNIX com1 and SUNIX com2
work is jammed up because of this problem, really need some advice soon

HELP anyone...........

OOps..........
Just went to
http://www.sunix.com.tw/it/en/DRIVER_LIST.php?Psid=469
downloaded, installed 32 bit drivers from above link......
WOW they work but they install card as com4 and com5....
bad news.. Qbasic software only recognizes com1 & com2
at least windows hyperlink terminal functions

Hi Carroll and welcome to the forums!  Grin

I'm glad you were able to find the driver download.  In device manager under ports you should be able to change the COM settings for that card.  This is done by right-clicking on your PCI card under "ports" in device manager and going to properties.  Then under the ports tab you should be able to find the ability to change the COM port.  It may be under the advanced button.
