I am connecting an HF modem through a USB to serial adapter.  I have no problems with this device on a normal comm port on the same computer.  I have the following configuration:
2.93 GHz CPU
1 gb memory
Win XP Home SP2
Prolific USB to Serial
HAL ST-8000 HF modem - a dumb terminal device for translating RTTY and other digital signals from a radio - the translation in and out is ASCII done in the modem.

The problem appears that the data is not being clocked correctly through the USB adapter in both directions.  Since the device is performing correctly on a normal RS232 9 pin port, I can only think that it is the Prolific driver(s).  I have tried to find the latest version and have is from 2003.

Any ideas or help will be appreciated..

There is a later driver version on our site. It is under the downloads section of the product page for the SW-1301.
