Just thought I would share this with you.

I have been using monitors for about 15 years now and have had headaches and eye problems for around the same amount of time.

I've been to the doctors and the optomitrist and have ended up wearing glasses.

About 6 months ago I got a laptop instead of a usual desktop machine for work.

The headaches improved so I also got a TFT for home, since then no headaches at all!

The moral of this story, is if you are suffering get yourself a TFT or a laptop,

as (for me at least) it was the CRT's which were causing the damage.

i spent a good 5 hours online last night working on my site shepizzle.com and noticed that afterward, my vision was all blurry and it was really the first time that i ever thought that looking at a computer screen could be bad for my eyes. it was a tft screen though... maybe it had something to do with the fact that i was up until 2 am?!  Wink

Mark was talking about this problem and learned that if you are on a computer and you need to look at the monitor for hours on end then if you just look away from the monitor and concentrate on something else for just a minute or so every half hour then it will help a lot.

I was having eye problems recently and the doctor was talking about this issue.

Straining to look at a close screen was causing a lot of problems for me so he suggested that I take a 1 minute break every 20 minutes from looking at the screen.

If you have problems focusing after a long day of work (or a long night of gaming, tikiman) the muscle in your eyes may be getting weaker. Try to focus on something 20' away, then something up close (like a screen) and go back and forth making sure your eye adjusts every time. This will help strengthen the muscle.

Now a days computer are coming with LCD screen and are hygienic .
In my opinion the headache and  pain in eyes are the result of constant looking at the screen  for hours ,It normal scenario that staring at anything constantly is responsible for headache.
If you are user of computer or laptop of good quality you can overcome such difficulties.
